ANOTHER SAD DAY IN BOLEH-LAND !

O my fellow Malaysians ! In Europe, this whole episode would have been stale news by now! Remember Carla Bruni, the wife of President Sarkozy ? She was also put in a similar spot, but then, I forgot that this is Boleh-land ! :-)

It will be interesting if the whole thing ends up in court because it is obviously an intrusion of privacy and even public servants and celebrities are entitled to privacy rights because surely Elizabeth did not give permission for her images to be splashed to the world at large !!!

So, it will be interesting to see how noble our courts are in its pursuit of truth and justice !!!
Whatever the outcome of the court’s decision, should the case ends up there, is immaterial because at the end of the day , Justice if not common sense will prevail and the people’s court will adjudge that Elizabeth Wong has been a victim of low life political intent which further underscores the erosion of morals and ethics in our political landscape !!!

I am quite sure that this is another dirty political ploy to distract the nation's attention away from the political crisis in Perak !

To me, this is not just gutter politics but also gender discrimination. The brouhaha over this issue and the speed at which certain quarters have asked for her resignation(including some FEMALE bloggers!!!!) is most disappointing. What happened to rational and fair thinking? The fact that prejudices and hidden agenda can cloud rational thinking and empathy tells us that many have lost the human part of their psyche and are nothing more than animals!!!
Very tragic!!! So sorry to be emphatic in my comment but I have kept it within me for over a day and am about to explode. :(
Thanks for highlighting this.

I'm heartened by the lack of public outcry on this matter except in the blogsphere.

Why?

I'm reminded of the atmosphere in Penang just before 8 March when the people went eerily silent.

Then I had thought that BN would win again but I now know better. It means the people are so fed up that their minds have been made up to kick UMNO/BN out of office at the first opportunity!

This makes the job of us Malaysians wanting a better Malaysia easier. We no longer have to convince the people of the evils of UMNO/BN but merely to remind them from time-to-time!

Oops, I forgot to add that we must not forget to remind the urbanite Malays to return to their kampungs and 'educate' their parents.

A bit off topic but point accepted. :-)

You are welcome. What goes around will come around to haunt them in the next GE. NO ONE can escape the rakyat's court of Justice!!!

In view of all the speculation surrounding the whole sorry episode and the absence of the victim’s impact report .
- if the victim is willing to put her political career on the line to stand by her principles and beliefs, she should leave no stones unturned, to defend against this undignified assault on her dignity and good name and to make a stand that public servants will not be held ransom by gutter politicians.
She must expose these spineless perpetrator(s), who are worse than the pimps of Chow Kit Road that prey on the vulnerability of their victims, and bring them to Justice. The best defense against
threats of such nature, is the removal, of the fear of what full disclosure may impact on the victim’s good character and of guilt when there is none !
If it is indeed a scandal ,this may well be Toyol’s (oops, typo),Toyo’s and his cohorts’ Waterloo !!!

moral issues are being manipulated once again by the umno-led rulling govt. started off with attacks on anwar ibrahim, and now with another mp. in fact there's a clear pattern on this and agencies such as the sprm, police and even the election commission are being controlled by them, forever lusting for power. in a short term this probably works fine esp in the generally conservative society where such an act is frowned upon. but in the long run this dirty, abhorrent and disgusting approach can prove disastrous and will exert a fatal blow to bn!

Let’s put the Elizabeth Wong “saga” to rest. What a person does in her or his own private life is his or her own business regardless of who that person is ! Invasion of one’s personal space and privacy is sacrilegious !!
The only reason the whole issue got so blown out of proportion - politicized and sensationalized - is because of the amount of gutter politicians we have in Boleh-land !
She did not choose to air her linens in public. Her critics are not unlike a bunch of wildly excited hound dogs barking at a skittish little kitten cornered up the tree branch.
The irony here is that they got so carried away with their delirious hounding, that they let their actual prey, the sly fox sneaked away.
Remember, “Elizabeth Wong” could have been your friend, sister, daughter ,mother and even girlfriend or wife.
Yes, you won’t be so” holier than thou ” if she is. And do not be shocked if one of your loved ones happens to be “her” because times have changed. Asian women have caught up with their men folks,,for the right or wrong reasons.
They are now more empowered , in control of their own lives and are at liberty to choose and do what they want, good or bad !
Girls also want to have fun. And what is good for the goose should be good for the gender as well ! - ocho-onda
